Notes: Without severe any storms tonight will be the game of the year. Big time matchups and NCAA talent all over the field. Starting in the cage MICDS has a wicked two headed monster in Senior Tommy O' Hara and junior Michigan commit Matty Trowbridge. Look for the two to split halves as they have done the past two seasons. For the spartans all signs point to John Tocco getting the start in the net. This will be Tocco's first big game under the lights so its baptism by fire. As far as defenese goes these are the best in the state hands down. The rams boast Delaware commit Jake Burmeister to go along with the beast Cole Sigmund on the crease, and Sam Fite. De Smet has some unreal talent in the trio of Pandolfo, Rougeau, and Snodgrass. Pandolfo absoultely put the cuffs on Parker Cordova in the Spartans 16-6 bashing of the cadets. At the face off dot De Smet senior and Lynchburg commit Craig Koester looks to continue his stellar farewell ride as he has dominated in and out of state competition. MICDS looks to counter with a stud of their own in junior Georgetown commit Alex Bean who is coming off a east coast tour that saw him crush a trio of DMV powerhouses.
Lastly but not least the offenses are both loaded as well. De Smet will look to run their O through Senior QB Noah Iversen who does a fantastic job of dodging with his eyes up and making the step off pass. Look for him to try and find Ross, Jones, or Umbeck as the trio has become his favorite targets. A key for the spartans will be the ability to draw slides from the midfield. Leonard Jones will have a big say in this and if he is on his game De Smet could have a big day. Country Day still without sophmore UVA commit Harry Wellford has not missed a beat. The next man up approach is working quite well for the rams. Senior Steven Mattingly has emereged as the QB dishing the rock well. Gaines Bundy, Henry Gillis, Will Cella, Michael Gianino, and Alexander Feldman will pace the rams. The sleeper is Banks Pflager who is quietly clocking in and going to work day in and day out.
As you can see this game will feature some of the St. Louis' areas top talent both players and coaches. Please pray to the rain gods for clear weather.
Our Call: 11-6 MICDS
