Notes: This afternoon the MSLA Division 1 season will commence as #1 MICDS faces off against the #6 CBC Cadets. The Cadets have taken a different path than their opponents. Lets call it the scenic route. Along their journey through the regular season they found themselves without offensive leader senior Parker Cordova. Most including myself had written the Cadets off. However lacrosse is a team game and fellow senior Nick Schveninger has emerged as legitimate threat to score and a leader of this team. To go along with Schveninger's leadership the Cadets have committed to winning the blue collar battles such as groundballs. With Cordova coming back just in time for playoffs he and Schveninger have paired up and become an extremely dynamic duo.  Just as they got back Cordova they lost senior net minder Joe Redlingshafer whose status is still unkown for this afternoon. In his first varsity start vs De Smet in the quarterfinals  John Paul Saracino gained his teammates trust. In the overtime win in the semi finals he silenced any and all remaining doubters with several saves in the extra period. Sophmore FOGO John Michael Cody will need to get off to a better start than he did vs SLUH but look for him to scrap and claw at the x. MICDS comes in rolling off a 13-1 win over Marquette that saw the Rams up 10-0 at the half.  Look for the first midfield line of Cella, Wellford, and Bundy to draw slides and initiate offense. The connection of Gianino to Cella struck early with the first goal of the game vs Marquette. The Rams defense has been a wall but will be severely tested tonight. Jake Burmeister has shut down every match up he has faced this season and it will be interesting to see who Defensive Coordinator Keith Templin decides to match him up with either Cordovaor or Schveninger. Without the ball you cannot score and FOGO Alex Bean will do his best to earn possession for the Rams. Several of Missouri's top players careers win or lose will come to an end this evening. There are 4 year varsity starters and NCAA D1, D2, and D3 commits everywhere you look. This afternoons game will speak to the growth and development efforts of everyone in the lacrosse community from youth to varsity. It will be a great game that should not be decided till the final minutes.
