Notes: After last nights thrilling 8-7 OT win for the CBC Cadets, the Marquette Mustangs will look to do the same and upset the MICDS Rams. Marquette is coming in real hot after a solid 18-6 thrashing of #5 Chaminade. The Mustangs pulled away early with some absolute rips from 7 yards and never looked back. Marquette is having one of most successful seasons of any first year team that has moved up to Division 1. They are paced offensively by Vito Cancila, the attackman has 41 points with 29 goals and 12 assists. Max Bowler has also shown the ability to let it fly and had a mean goal in the Chaminade game. Face off man Jack Lynch will have to grind it out against MICDS' Alex Bean but Lynch more than held his own versus Chaminade. Look for LSM Connor Hill to do his best to wreak havoc on the wings, to go along with covering the Rams #1 threat also if things go south he could see some reps at the face off x. One interesting angle will be Marquette's decision to go with a zone defense as they have earlier in the year. If so the Rams will need to have big days from zone busters Will Cella and Harry Wellford who are lethal from up to 15 yards. MICDS comes in off of physical 11-5 win over #8 Webster Groves. The rams dominated the game en route to a 8-0 halftime lead. Senior Michael Gianino has shown the ability to be both a midfielder and attackmen and his speed from up top should be a factor in drawing slides. Freshman Alexander Feldman had a great first playoff game with two goals and a pretty slick behind the back goal. The Woodchucks struggled to get the ball across half as Alex Bean and freshman Benny Hausler went off winning seemingly every draw for the Rams. Senior Tommy O' Hara is looking to pitch another first half shutout as held the Woodchucks scoreless on two shots. The chance of rain is down to 10% at game time so hopefully it stays that way. Tonight should be another great night for Missouri Lacrosse. Bring your friends, cousins, parents, and grandparents out to Soccer Park and enjoy some of the finest lacrosse the state has to offer.
My Call 13-4 MICDS
