Notes: In the second game of the triple header the #7 Lafayette Lancers travel to Oakland avenue to face the #2 SLUH Jr. Bills. An April 16th match up at the U High saw the Jr. Bills battle to a 15-12 win in one of the better games this season. However after a strong start the Lancers are stumbling into the playoffs having lost to Marquette, MICDS, and Ladue to close out the season. Lafayette will need senior Brendan Duggan to be healthy and on his game. The dynamic attackman has proven to be one of the toughest match ups in the state with several 5+ goal games and is second in the state in scoring with 116 points (75,41). Goalie Matt Roither has also been banged up but is assumed to be playing. When he is locked in he is up there with the top keepers in the state and is leading the state in saves with 190. Special teams will play a huge role in this game with SLUH having the top pair in the state, with junior face off man Patrick Broughton and fellow junior goalie Jack Perryman. Broughton is arguably the #1 man in the state right now which is loaded with talent at the X. He is known to heat up as the game progresses and once he is on a roll he is difficult to stop. Perryman has been in more clutch games then any other keep this year. He is big game tested and has 181 saves second only to Lafayette's Roither. SLUH will have to clean up their game as they have caught the turnover bug towards the end of the season, and in the playoffs possession is at a premium. While they aren't coming off 3 straight losses, their match ups with Marquette and Webster where a bit too close for comfort.  This should be the game of the night with two very evenly matched teams and should come down to the final whistle.

My Call: 14-13 Lafayette
